Our CNC punch mold grinder precisely restores and maintains stamping dies (both punch and die halves). Its CNC controls automate each grinding pass to ensure sharp edges, exact geometry, and a smooth finish—extending die life and improving part quality. Key components include:
CBN Grinding Wheel: High-speed, micro‐material removal.
Servo Worktable & Fixtures: Rigid clamping and repeatable multi-axis positioning.
High-Torque Drive: Stable wheel speeds up to 3,000 RPM for consistent cutting.
Cooling & Chip Removal: Continuous coolant flow and debris evacuation.
Intelligent CNC Control: Coordinates all axes and grinding parameters for precise, automated material removal.

Our fixture lets you clamp upper and lower dies for stations A, B, C, D, and E simply by adjusting its position. Most punch grinders have fixed-angle fixtures, forcing you to use special tooling when grinding slanted-edge punches. In contrast, the WG-150’s worktable can tilt on its own, so you can grind bevelled-die profiles directly by changing the table height, without any extra fixtures.

The grinder uses a conductive CBN wheel, second only to diamond in hardness and highly wear-resistant. During operation, it receives electrical signals that ensure the die surface is ground with pinpoint accuracy.

A high-power cooling system prevents the die from overheating during grinding, avoiding annealing or edge cracking. A filtration unit removes grinding debris to prevent coolant contamination and allow reuse; magnetic elements can be added to further enhance filtration. An integrated air gun blows away chips and cleans the worktable after processing, protecting machine surfaces from rust caused by residual coolant.
A CNC punch grinder delivers precise, stable, and efficient sharpening for dies of all shapes and sizes. With its automation features, you’ll avoid manual errors, speed up your work, and cut down on die replacement and maintenance costs.
Early Stage: When you notice the punch tip or die edge developing a 0.25 mm radius or the cutting edge appears polished/bright, perform a grinding cycle to extend die life.
Late Stage: If you observe a drop in punch quality, a significant increase in burr formation, or abnormal press noises, immediately halt production and grind the tooling before resuming operation.
Die Grind Length – This is often overlooked but is critically important, as it directly impacts the service life of the die.
Punch Penetration Depth (the maximum stroke of the punch into the die) – Typically maintained at 3–4 mm to prevent scrap carry‐over issues.
When the punch tip or lower die fractures, the locating pins are severely worn, or the remaining grind allowance is insufficient.
